DESCRIPTION:We love evangelism and leading people to Christ\, the first work of the church as Christ expressed in Matthew 28:18-20.  Evangelism\, however\, is often fruitless without discipleship.  We must teach new Christians how to mature in Christ through discipleship. Otherwise\, we risk them returning to their old lifestyle and struggles. \nTo prevent this backsliding\, we developed a discipleship program to help new believers in South Dallas become mature and effective Christ-followers.  Discipleship is especially important for South Dallas new Christ followers because many of them struggle with substance abuse\, homelessness\, joblessness\, poverty\, criminal records\, mental health illness\, and so on.  They need to become and remain strong in Christ to enjoy financial\, emotional\, mental and spiritual soundness.
