You can take control of your life God’s way.  What’s God’s way?  Strong faith is God’s way!  Strong faith is the thought behind 2 Chronicles 16:9, which says: “…the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.”

strong-faith

The phrase “whose heart is perfect toward him” refers to a person with strong faith.  In other words, God will show Himself strong on behalf of those with strong faith.

This promise is key because we’re living in the last days and Satan has stepped up his attacks on the Body of Christ.  Murder, mayhem, and medical mysteries are taking over the landscape and have people’s hearts full of fear.  Without strong faith, you’ll wither under these attacks.  With strong faith, however, you have an antidote to all the attacks of the devil.

Developing Strong faith

Faith is the Greek word pistis which means full assurance and strong conviction.  And God gives every believer the measure of faith (Romans 12:3).  The question is how to develop that measure of faith into strong faith?

We can develop our faith into strong faith by obtaining a revelation of God’s character, care, covenant, and capacity.  Let’s look briefly at how each of these areas contributes to strong faith.

Faith in God’s Character

Strong faith is not possible until you have removed all doubts about God’s character.  You must know that He cannot lie because it’s impossible for Him to lie.  And it’s impossible for Him to lie because everything He says is true.

Besides that, God cannot lie because of His unassailable moral character.  The scripture says God is no mere human! He doesn’t tell lies or change his mind. God always keeps his promises.  Numbers 23:19 (CEV).   Moreover, His Word is forever settled in heaven.  Psalm 119:89.  His propensity for truthfulness and integrity are rock solid.

Faith in God’s Care

Knowing God deeply cares about you is the foundation of strong faith.  Paul said we should be rooted and grounded in His love. When Peter and the other disciples were aboard a ship facing a violent storm and presumed death they doubted whether Jesus cared for them.  Fear crept in their hearts because they wavered about God’s deep and abiding love for them.

Like the disciples, our faith cannot be strong until we know how deep the love of God is for us.  For assurances of His love, we need only look to Calvary’s Cross.

Faith in God’s Covenant

Strong faith is predicated upon understanding how serious God takes covenant.  Most Americans are unfamiliar with the concept of covenants.  We’re more familiar with the concept of contracts.

But, God doesn’t do contracts. He’s a God of covenants. Unlike contracts, God knows breaking covenants has severe consequences.  He knows that if He were to break His covenant with us, the consequences would be cataclysmic—indescribable.

Strong faith knows that God will never ever break His covenant. There’s no possibility of Him breaking His covenant.  It’s ratified in His Son’s blood.  Our faith will be strong and impenetrable when we know in our hearts that God will never break His covenant.

Faith in God’s Capacity

Lastly, not only must you have a revelation of God’s character, care and covenant.  You also need a revelation of God’s capacity.  The word capacity means power, and strong faith knows that God’s power is limitless, immeasurable and infinite.

Strong faith springs forth in our hearts when we know and have full confidence in His matchless power.  We must know for certain that His power can conquer any evil that confronts us.  We must know that if the power of His Word upholds the universe it certainly can solve our problems.

Conclusion

You will be able to control your destiny if you take the time to develop your faith into strong faith based on the four aspects above.  You’ll not be merely responding to life’s circumstances or satan’s proclivities.  Instead, you’ll be operating in the supernatural, which will empower you to conquer the challenges of life.  Challenges will still come; but, you’ll be victorious over them all.
