This posting is part two of a blog I wrote several weeks ago entitled: “The Blessing of the Lord: How To Work Less, But Have More.” In part one, I made several statements we need to review before delving into part two.
Here are the major takeaways from part one:
- Hard grinding work does not make you rich.
- The Blessing of the Lord coupled with the diligent pursuit of your divine assignment makes you rich.
- You have the Blessing of Abraham automatically if you are born-again.
- The Blessing of the Lord will not prosper you, however, until you activate it.
Incidentally, I use the Blessing of Abraham interchangeably with the Blessing of the Lord. They are the same.
How To Activate The Blessing of Abraham?
The Blessing of Abraham is not self-activating. It will not produce prosperity until you activate it. It’s like a new credit card that’s useless until you follow the cardholder’s instructions and activate it. You activate the Blessing of Abraham by employing certain spiritual laws.
Not understanding how to activate the Blessing of Abraham is the reason so many Jesus followers are broke, sick and defeated despite having the same Blessing that made Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the Jewish people fabulously rich and successful? That’s about to change for you, Beloved.
Faith Activates The Blessing
Over the years, I’ve identified fifteen spiritual laws that activate the Blessing of Abraham. I cover each of them in my upcoming book, Kingdom Laws of Prosperity.
None of these spiritual laws is more important than the law of faith (Romans 3:27). Here’s what Paul says about faith and the Blessing of Abraham in Galatians 3:9-10.
So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. Galatians 3:9-10
Right off the bat, let me address what seems to be a contradiction. I said certain spiritual laws activate the Blessing of Abraham. But Paul says in verse 10 that “the law” puts us under the curse. Paul seems to contradict my assertion that certain spiritual laws activate the Blessing of Abraham.
It’s not a contradiction at all, and here’s why?
When Paul says “the law” he’s referring to the Ten Commandments and all the other rabbinical laws and interpretations in the first five books of the Bible. The Jews call these first five books of the Bible the Pentateuch, Torah or Chamesh collectively.
When I use the term spiritual laws, I’m not referring to any of these Old Testament laws. I’m not referring to “the law.” I know “the law” puts its adherents under the curse. Instead, I’m referring to spiritual laws that God used to create and govern the universe. Spiritual laws are as real as physical laws including the well known law of gravity.
The Spiritual Law of Faith
Faith is indeed a spiritual law. To understand how it works, let’s define the term faith. In the New Testament, faith is the Greek word pistis, which interpreted means to be fully persuaded or to have a deep conviction in something. In the Bible sense, it means to be fully persuaded or have a deep conviction in the integrity of the Word of God despite what natural facts communicate to the natural senses.
When a person walks in this level of faith, it pleases God and automatically activates the Blessing of Abraham. With the Blessing of Abraham now activated, the person is empowered to prosper and receive God’s best. He’s positioned to receive God’s power and favor to conquer anything in life.
The Woman With The Issue of Blood
There are many examples of faith activating the Blessing of Abraham in the Word of God. Consider the woman in the Gospel of Mark chapter five who hemorrhaged for twelve years profusely and uncontrollably. She spent all her money on doctors, but they couldn’t heal her, and her physical and financial condition worsened. .
However, she heard stories about Jesus healing people. These stories gave her hope and eventually caused her to become fully persuaded and convicted that Jesus would heal her if she touched a mere thread of His clothing. Because she was fully convinced, she fought her way through the massive boisterous crowd and touched His hem. Immediately, the power of God healed her. In a split-second, her faith activated the Blessing of Abraham, and it met her need.
Notice this critical point
This woman suffered from this condition for twelve years although she had the Blessing of Abraham. It wasn’t until she activated the Blessing of Abraham did her condition change. Her story proves that the Blessing of Abraham must be activated before we benefit from it.
Once she activated it, the Blessing of Abraham, however, did much more for this woman than heal her. It also made her whole in all areas of her life. It restored all that she lost from the disease. She had cracked the code, mastered the secret to success and changed her life. She was now empowered to prosper all around.
If you are a Christ follower, like this woman, you too have the Blessing of Abraham according to Galatians 3:13. It’s ready to empower you to prosper, succeed and have God’s best. But, you must follow her example and increase your faith in the Blessing of Abraham so it will be activated.
How To Increase Your Faith In The Blessing of Abraham
How do you increase your faith and expectation in the Blessing of Abraham so it will be activated? I suggest several things.
- Find Bible teachers who teach on the Blessing of Abraham so you can hear about it more. Remember, faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17). If you never or seldom hear about the Blessing of Abraham you cannot have faith to activate it.
- Meditate daily on the Blessing of Abraham. Do this by setting aside a block of time daily (at least 15 minutes) where you quieten your mind and repeat under your breath that you have the Blessing of Abraham. Eventually, this will increase your faith in the Blessing of Abraham.
- Talk like you have the Blessing of Abraham. Say every time you think about it, that you have the Blessing of Abraham. Do this not just when things are going well but especially when things appear to be bad. That’s when you need to remind yourself, especially that you have the Blessing of Abraham, and Christ has redeemed you from the curse of failure, sickness, disease and every other negative thing.
- Expect to see the Blessing of Abraham manifest in your life instead of fearing the curse. Expectation is hope, and faith brings your hopes into realities. Expect to see favor when all around you see failure and disappointment. Eventually, your faith in the Blessing of Abraham will change your failures into success, just as it did for the woman who had the issue of blood.
Conclusion
Here’s why I strongly encourage you to do the four things above to increase your faith and expectation in the Blessing of Abraham. Plain and simple, your broke, sick and pitiful days will be over once you become fully persuaded and convicted that you have the Blessing of Abraham and start expecting it to manifest in your life.
Question: Why do you think so few pastors and Bible teachers spend such little, if any, time teaching about the very important topic of the Blessing of Abraham.
